Getting Inside My Head

While my son was serving a mission in Torreon, Mexico, I wrote a compilation of musings that related events, insights, memories, activities, observations, and thoughts to the scriptures. I could easily see that everything that happens in life has spiritual overtones.

From the back cover of the book: “This volume reflects a few of the author’s thoughts and insights while her son was spending “the best two years” of his life serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Torreon, Mexico. Turning to the scriptures as a way of better coping with his absence, she was soon reminded that whether a person needed a lesson in faith, a reminder to be grateful, or a proverb on the value of hard work, she could find the answer within these divine pages.”

You can order Musings online at http://www.Amazon.com and other online sites including Barnes and Noble, Borders, and AuthorHouse. And if you’d rather not order something online, then just leave me a comment, and I’ll make sure that you get a copy.

Update: This book is now in ebook form too and can now be downloaded to your Kindle. What’s next in the world of publishing???

As of April 2012, Eve’s Sisters is now available from Inspiring Voices, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and yours truly.

What makes Eves’s Sisters unique is that it applies psychological priniciples to the women of the Old and New Testaments while comparing their lives to those of the women who live today. Issues of esteem, rejection, abuse, deceit, and jealousy are considered as are the virtues most often extolled in the women of the Bible. Esther’s courage, Hannah’s faith, and Dorcas’s compassion are but a few of the more positve of those whose lives and deeds are spotlighted.

  1. Thanks for responding. As it is now almost 4 PM eastern standard time, I do not think I got the job. It is alright. I just haven’t figured out how I can earn steady money yet. Sometimes I let that get to me despite an impressive career. I too have a few books out now. One is a reprint, the other is a new collection of short stories.
I did not know where else to place a comment, sorry if this is the wrong place. I am very new to this.

  2. Nice to hear from you. If not this job, then there’s another one out there…probably a better one.

I’d love to know more about your books. I went to a writers’ conference a couple of weeks ago, and one of the things that was reinforced over and over again is that writers need to support each other.

  3. Jayne, you are such a sweetheart and supportive, whether writers or otherwise. Just want you to know how marvelous I think you are in that you take so much time to try and “spread peace and goodwill”.
    In His Love.

  4. Me??? You’re the one who’s so consistently supportive and spiritual. ALL of your posts reflect your giant soul and heart whereas mine do not. It’s going to be neat to meet in person and do some bargain shopping next month!

  5. Glad to see you are promoting your wonderful book!!!
To everyone reading this, buy a copy…it is a truly inspirational
    read!

  6. Spoken like a true friend! Thanks for the vote of confidence. The conference that I attended a month ago encouraged self-promotion so I’m trying to be a little bolder.

  7. I’ve seen this in your side bar before but I never read that this is Your Book!!! Where have I been??? What a wonderful thing, I must get a copy…and I even have a gift card that I need to use to Barnes & Noble.
    🙂
Ya-who new reading material for me!

  8. Nikki, You’re a sweetheart. Thanks. Maybe I’ll put you in my next book. I’m doing little bits and pieces of writings to go in two eventual books, one on conversion stories and the other on love. Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been fascinated about what brings couples together, what keeps them together (or not), how they communicate, and so forth. Do you and DH have a special story?
